The Inn at Mount Snow is pleased to be named the Deerfield Valley’s and the Mount Snow Region’s first designated “Green Hotel” according to the State of Vermont’s Department of Environmental Conservation. Green Hotels in the Green Mountain State is part of a larger public-private partnership program, the Vermont Business Environmental Partnership.
To earn our designation as Green Hotel, we adopted a set of core environmental standards using new and existing initiatives. Our designation reflects our deep commitment to pollution prevention and exemplary environmental stewardship.
If reducing your carbon footprint is important to you and your family, choose to stay with us.
The Green Hotels program is designed to promote and recognize the work of Vermont lodgers who demonstrate daily that environmental and economic goals can be achieved simultaneously. Although each property achieves these standards uniquely, each conducts an environmental opportunity assessment with an on-site visit by program representatives and each adopts an general environmental policy and an environmental preferable purchasing policy. Vermont’s Green Hotels are using sound environmental management practices to reduce their impacts on the environment, improve their bottom line and satisfy customer demand for environmentally conscious lodging establishments. Green Hotels are about saving – reducing material use, waste, fuel use, and water use. Ultimately these reductions lead to reducing greenhouse gases, which are often assessed as carbon dioxide equivalents (CO2E). All this adds up to saving money and the environment.” ~ vtgreenhotels.org
